.stretch baby stretch.

Yes, I am still pregnant...
and running out of things to wear.

Even from the beginning of my pregnancy, I always said that I would not spend a lot of money on maternity clothes, but it is getting to the point where everything feels extremely tight. Luckily the weather has been cooling down, but just a bit, which means I can still wear my stretchy dresses for the last few weeks left of this lovely, 40-week gestational period. Now that I am at the end of my pregnancy with only 3 weeks left (I still cannot believe how quickly time went by), I have to admit that I am a little tempted to purchase some super stretchy and super comfy maternity leggings, or pants. Should I give in?

This is me remembering that I can only drink decaf.

Snake print flats from Lulus'

Failed attempt at a flatlay

Due to limited clothing options, I had to keep this look really simple and rely on accessories. I have been wanting to use a hat for so long, but it was very windy on this particular day. I really have the best luck. Not. Speaking of luck, it was cool enough to wear a sweater and I had the perfect blue-green cardigan to throw over my stretchiest black dress. I have been obsessed with animal print lately and found the perfect snakeskin loafers from lulus.com (only $25!) to pair with a white crossbody purse from Target (pronounced tar-jay). I really wish the blue-green tones in the cardigan photographed better, but at least my apricot danish was delicious!

I wish you all a lovely day!

Much love,
PerlaGiselle

  1. That's seriously a gorgeous outfit! I LOVE your lipstick too, such a nice shade. I'm sure it's ok to buy something maternity, afterall it will remind you of your pregnancy as a keepsake!

  9. The last weeks of pregnancy seem to last the longest. And do invest into some stretchy leggings, you won´t fit into your regular clothes for another few weeks after giving birth, so you´ll get your wear out of them.

  18. You look so gorgeous and chic in this classic look Perlita! I can understand not wanting to spend a lot of money on a maternity wardrobe if you can get by with stretchy items you already have in your closet. You've done so well so why not you treat yourself to a pair of maternity bottoms just so you can be super comfy before you're due to give birth.

  27. It's exciting everything is so close now! I loved maxi dresses and stretchy maxi skirts in the last few weeks of my pregnancies with my boys - if you have any elastic waist pieces now you will find they are really valuable post-partum too in those first few weeks! :)

Hope that you are having a nice weekend :) We went to our friends wedding yesterday so that was fun :)
