.WuTang.

Look at this hyna dressing like it's a goth-hippie-summer.
WuTang_Clan_Crop_top_Ootd_Lace_Skirt_Black_BLazer_Head_Scarf

Why am I wearing such a "revealing" crop top? Honestly, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone because I've been unhappy with my body image even though I lost the baby weight pretty quickly. I simply went back to my healthier eating habits and in about a month I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight and into my regular clothes. HOWEVER, I don't like how my clothes look on me and you better believe I am now sporting a FUPA (another thing I have in common in with Beyoncé, so yay!). I apologize if I sound superficial. I just miss being healthy(er) and strong(er).

Speaking of superficial, I have been thinking a lot about how the blogging world has changed since I first started back in 2011. There are way more ads and a lot of bloggers have been turning to writing sponsored pieces about products/brands they probably don't even care about. I'll admit that I am guilty for jumping on that bandwagon to make a few extra dollars, but I am going to push myself to be more authentic with my posts. After all, that is what makes this platform so much fun. I have been able to make meaningful connections with so many wonderful people here and on Instagram and I don't want to lose any of you! With that said, if you are following me on Instagram and I'm not following you back, let me know so that we can connect.

This outfit was inspired by a gangster rap moment I had when I went on a Target run without my baby. I tend to go all gangster mode when I am sans baby and turn the music way up to feel like I am in a music video. When my baby rides in the car with me, it's classical music all the way. Okay, maybe not classical music, but something along the lines of baby shark. Oh yeah, back to the outfit. I tried to balance this super gangster Wu-Tang Clan shirt with a classier blazer (those shoulder pads though) and a lace skirt. I wore my favorite black, vegan suede boots from Lulu's. Does anyone else throw matching scarves on their head when they see one? No? Just me?

And I love how you listen to softer/classical music with your baby and then switch it up when you're alone. I can just see you rapping, bopping and having a good time behind that steering wheel, ha!

  10. You go, girl! And can I say I hate you for losing the weight quickly? :D I kid...I kid....you should be really proud and I love that you go out of your comfort zone. You look so awesome. :)Honestly, I would dress like this, but my kiddos literally would not let me out of the house when they see my belly with all the stretch marks.:P

  13. Hahaha a little bit gangsta a little bit goth, yes! I was a goth in high school and college whooee. Well you know how I feel about blogging. The biggest thing is all the faking. And the faking with the numbers once brands really catch on to how much is fake and how little in roads they can make on IG. It will no longer be the go to. In fact I hear this a lot of other influencers many have stopped using IG all together or have cut back.

  16. I had to google what FUPA meant but now that I know, I think it's such a cool way to think about it. I hate this pressure that women feel today to get back into shape right after having a baby. Besides there are many ways to be in shape. A six pack is not an only indication of being in shape. One can be in shape and still have curves. Getting in shape should be about embracing the body and working with it, not about pushing it to fit some athletic body ideal that our society currently holds popular.

I love your outfit. The scarf is so cute. You wear gansta chic very well. The cropped top works great with a skirt. You look beautiful! I don't see any FUPA on you, but either way I think it's good to think about it like Beyonce.

    Have a fab day!

  24. GIRL, you're rocking your outfit!! You look great! The blogging world changed so much over the years, I mean we try to stick to our foundational values but it's also okay to adapt to the changes, as long as we don't completely sell out and straight up lie about our true opinions. Oooh, I totally feel you about the outfit vibes, hehe. Keep it up!!!
