.palomera.

I was really close to not posting this look.

There didn't seem to be anything special about it, but here it goes.

The title of the post is a word in Spanish that refers to a person that trains pigeons to race.
 What the...?
My dad is a palomero and since he's too busy working, he sends his lovely daughters and wife to release his pigeons several miles farther from home each time so that they are trained well enough come racing season.
Ummm... Okay...
I know, it's strange especially when I have to explain it to people that have never even heard of this hobby. Haha. I grew up with this, so it seems totally normal to me, but yes the pigeons do make it back home. The rings the pigeons wear have a chip that gets scanned when they enter the coop at my parents house. Mister Pancho (my father) then takes the ring scanner to his pigeon club(?) and they compare arrival times/distance traveled.
I guess...
Alright, that's enough pigeon talk.

I wanted to get boots out of my system, so this might be the last time I wear any for a long time. I have been mentally preparing for spring clothes for the past month or so and I think I am ready to move on.

That was really hard for me to say.

I hope you like this random pigeon outfit post.

  9. I'm glad you decided to post the look, girl, because I love it! Sometimes, the simple ones are the most inspiring because we can often over complicate creating outfits for everyday and this one is so cute and stylish with the crip top and camo vest; I'm also loving those boots, too! I've heard of this hobby before, my husband has told me about it. He grew up with a lot of friends from the Dominican Republic who also had this hobby :) Thanks for sharing, girlie, and I hope you have the best week ahead!
