My family and I had the most magical stay at Howard Johnson in Anaheim this past weekend.
We spent some quality time as a family and had a blast with my fellow mamas from The Mommy Blogger Tribe and their families.
I'm going to tell you all about our stay and why we will return for another mini getaway at this magical hotel as well as how you can save on your next visit. You will see why the location, amenities, and overall vibe make Howard Johnson in Anaheim the hotel to book for your next southern California Adventure.
Location
HOJO Anaheim's ideal location makes the walk to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure in about 10 minutes. I can't forget to mention all of the dine-in options during our stay. We were able to easily walk to Mimi's Cafe for breakfast and Calaca Mamas Cantina for dinner. We enjoyed our dinner at Calaca Mamas Cantina so much that we stayed late enough to watch Disneyland's firework show.
Check-In
We arrived right on time for check-in at 4PM. There was a cute little treasure chest filled with chocolate coins that my toddler was really happy about and kept her entertained while I checked in. The whole process was such a breeze. Their parking spaces seem to wrap around the hotel, so that your car is easily accessible regardless of your room location.
The Room
There is nothing like walking into your sparkling-clean hotel room for the first time with perfectly-made beds. Our two queen bed room was spacious, beautifully decorated and had a balcony with a view of the pool. The beds were so comfortable that for the first time in ages, both of my kids slept in and I ended up having to wake them up in the mornings.
Amenities
The amenities at HOJO Anaheim are perfect for kids and adults alike. As mentioned before, onsite parking is available and is a huge plus, especially when you consider how pricey parking can be when visiting the parks and nearby attractions. You can also count on laundry facilities and services, which are essential when staying for an extended amount of time. Our family's favorite amenities where the pool and water playground, also known as the Castaway Cove.
Castaway Cove
The Castaway Cove is a must when you stay at Howard Johnson Anaheim! It's the perfect day to cool down after walking around the Disney Parks or exploring Anaheim. The drench bucket and curvy waterslide was enjoyed by the older kids. My toddler loved the wading pool and the spray fountains. Parents can relax in the hot tub while the kids splash around this pirate-themed water playground. There are restrooms and showers onsite and reservations are required to ensure an enjoyable environment for guests. Check out their new seating reservation system.
This was our second time visiting Howard Johnson in Anaheim, but our first time staying over night with The Mommy Blogger Tribe. We began our stay with a pool party with Sunstaches, which all of The Mommy Blogger Tribe kids (and adults) always love wearing. You can see all the fun sunglasses they have in some of the pictures as well as the yummy and cute donuts they provided us with. Check out their best sellers here or give them a follow on Instagram!
Our Sponsors
The Mommy Blogger Tribe families were also spoiled with an awesome bag filled with goodies from our amazing sponsors. Thank you Sunstaches for my daughter's favorite Grogu and Disney Princes Crown sunglasses. She cannot get enough of them and wears them everywhere! GoGo SqueeZ has been a favorite of ours for as long as I can remember, they make yummy snacking mess-free and fun for my kids. Thank you One Fun Company for our Splatz hand soap. My toddler loves to wash her hands now all because of the fun, bursting soap bubbles. We have been using our Tubby Todd Sunstick because it's effective and easy to apply. Follow Tubby Todd on Instagram to see all the fun content they post. I want to give a special shoutout to Hilda from Centeno Portraits for capturing some fun moments during our Sunstaches Pool Party. We love her work and our kids absolutely adore her. Make sure to give her a follow on Instagram.
We also enjoyed a light breakfast at HOJO Anaheim's brand-new House of the Retro Future Suite. It reminded me so much of the episode "House of Tomorrow" on the The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse cartoon, except it's a lot more stylish and exclusive. Here are a few pictures so that you can see how beautiful it is.
