Exploring World of Barbie in Los Angeles

Hey there, fellow Barbie lovers!

Mom and daughter posing in front of Barbie mirror

If you've ever dreamt of stepping into Barbie's glamorous world, then you're in for a treat.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the incredible World of Barbie in Los Angeles with my daughter, and let me tell you, it was an experience we'll cherish forever.

Barbie's Dreamhouse:

Once you step inside World of Barbie, get ready to be whisked away into a life-size replica of Barbie's iconic Dreamhouse. From the fabulous wardrobe to the dazzling accessories, every detail is meticulously designed to recreate the magic of Barbie's world. It's the perfect opportunity for you and your little one to imagine yourselves living Barbie's extraordinary life. My daughter's favorite was the ball pit pool. I couldn't get her out!

Exploring World of Barbie:

After you walk through Barbie's Dreamhouse, you will have an opportunity to enter the Barbie movie theatre where a Barbie movie plays on a loop. The next room is where you will find the life-sized pink Barbie Camper. The next room is filled with the most Barbie photo ops. I could not believe how many life-sized Barbie boxes there were with all the themes you can possibly  imagine. The Barbie Paul Mitchell Hair Salon is adorned with interactive mirrors that allow you to play around with different hairstyles. The photo ops are endless throughout the rest of the rooms including the music room, the museum and interstellar airways,

Special Events:

As of publishing date, there are two separate events being announced on the World of Barbie website that require a special ticket. On July 7th and 22nd, Paul Mitchell stylists will be onsite from 12PM-6PM offering their dry styling services to deliver fabulous looks in just 20 minutes. Special ticket holders can choose from a collection of iconic Barbie hairstyles, and glamorous accessories.

World of Barbie is also hosting Sips After Sunset, which is an adults-only evening where special ticket holders can enjoy Barbie-themed beverages and bites at the exclusive after-hours of the World of Barbie. This is an even that I would love to attend dressed in my best Barbiecore outfit. Sips After Sunset is a 21 years and over event and lasts 120 minutes.

Location and Parking:

World of Barbie is conveniently located at Santa Monica Place, an outdoor shopping mall right by the Santa Monica Pier. You can find it at the west side of the mall on the first level at 395 Santa Monica Pl, Santa Monica, CA 90401. As for parking, there are two large structures with access to Santa Monica Place. Plan accordingly and allow extra time to secure a spot.

Hours of Operation:

Before you embark on your Barbie-filled day, make note of World of Barbie's operating hours. As of the time of writing, World of Barbie is open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday through Sunday. Remember to double-check the official website, losangeles.theworldofbarbie.com, for any updates or changes to the schedule.

Ticket Prices:

World of Barbie offers various ticket options to suit your preferences. As of now, general admission tickets vary depending on the day and time. It seems as though it is cheaper to visit during the week compared to weekends. Babies under the age of 1 can enjoy free admission. Keep in mind that ticket prices are subject to change, so it's wise to visit the official ticket website for the most up-to-date information.

Gift Shop:

If you're looking to take a piece of Barbie's world home with you, make sure to visit the World of Barbie Gift Shop. This retail haven offers an extensive collection of Barbie merchandise, including dolls, accessories, clothing, and collectibles. You can customize your own Barbie wardrobe at their Barbie Build It Experience. It's a Barbie lover's dream come true!

Before You Go:

Before heading out to World of Barbie, it's important to check their official website, losangeles.theworldofbarbie.com, for the latest updates on hours, ticket prices, and any special events or exhibits. Planning ahead will ensure a smooth and memorable visit for you.

  32. Look for any exhibitions at museums or galleries that celebrate Barbie's impact on culture, fashion, and feminism. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) or The Getty might occasionally feature exhibits that touch on themes related to iconic toys and their societal implications.
